ABOUT US
HERMELA MULAT
Hi, my name is Hermela. I’m 20 years old and I’m from Nottingham
I am a law student at Nottingham Trent University.
To me, Jesus is my saviour and the peace of my life. Finding comfort in him is what keeps me going through all the challenges that life gives and my hope lies in the fact that one day I’ll be able to have eternal life in heaven through the sacrifice that Jesus made for us.
My favourite bible verse is: "God is within her, she will not fall, God will help her at the break of day. Psalm 46:5 "
I and Honour want this blog to encourage others that are on the same journey as us to keep on striving for the kingdom and help to centre life around Gods words. I believe it will also help my journey
HONOUR OKOLI
Hii! My name is Honour and I am 21-year-old medical student at the University of Leeds. Hermela and I, decided to start "The Word: UNCUT" because of the passion we have for Christ and the gospel. I hope to use this opportunity to grow in Christ myself whilst also helping others come to God.

When I think of Jesus, I think of salvation. There is no way I could be made right with God, if not for the sacrifice made on the cross. I am always overwhelmed by the love that is shown to me in every aspect of my life. Being in Christ, brings me a lot of joy and peace – one that I’m unable to even describe.
My favourite bible verse as of now is Isaiah 55:8-9 ‘“My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts” says the Lord. “And my ways are beyond anything you could imagine. For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts”’.
OUR STORY
Funnily enough, we’ve both always wanted to start a blog separately, but none of us really took the jump to start one. In 2019, during one of our bible study sessions, we somehow both mentioned how we wanted to start a blog but never had the chance to, but it was still a thing that we wanted to do. At that moment, we decided that this is the time for us to really stop procrastinating and giving excuses and actually start one.Â
We finally began planning at the start of 2020, but work really went underway during the lockdown period. This opportunity hopefully will help us strengthen our relationship with God whilst helping others really understand our faith and what the word says.
